Bitdeer AI secures its largest Southeast Asia data center project, advancing toward its 350MW AI cloud goal by 2028.
Bitdeer AI, the AI cloud division of Nasdaq-listed Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR), has secured a 65.1MW AI Cloud data center facility, dubbed A202, at its Johor Bahru, Malaysia campus. This marks the company’s largest single capacity addition in Southeast Asia, bringing its secured AI Cloud capacity to approximately 206.5MW globally, or 59% of its 350MW target by Q1 2028. The facility will be operational by Q3 2027, according to the company.
The A202 facility is part of a 10-year data center services agreement and will leverage existing infrastructure from the Johor campus, which already houses the 21.7MW A201 facility and the recently sold-out 9.5MW A102 site. Combined, the Johor campus will account for 86.8MW of AI Cloud capacity once A202 is online. The company’s CFO, Michael G. Potter, cited strong demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI Cloud capacity as a key driver for this expansion.
“A102 sold out ahead of energization, and A201 is in advanced negotiations,” Potter said. “Securing A202 is a direct response to the unambiguous signal from customers: demand for 2027 capacity is running ahead of supply.” Bitdeer AI’s active pipeline for AI Cloud capacity is now estimated to exceed $7 billion in potential contract value, reflecting robust market interest in its GPU cloud services and data hosting solutions.
The A202 facility will feature NVIDIA’s GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin platforms, optimized for liquid cooling and high-performance computing. This mirrors the capabilities of the A102 facility, where a 9.5MW capacity generated over $800 million in total expected revenue under five-year commitments. Bitdeer AI plans to fund the new facility’s GPU deployment primarily through customer prepayments and financing tied to contracted cash flows, aiming for more than 50% of associated capital expenditures to be covered upfront.
Bitdeer AI’s expansion in Malaysia aligns with the region’s growing demand for AI infrastructure. The company’s Malaysia AI footprint has seen rapid growth since deploying initial NVIDIA infrastructure at its Cyberjaya data center in late 2025. With A102 and A201 already in place, the Johor campus has become a pivotal hub for the company’s Southeast Asian operations.
As of September 14, 2026, Bitdeer Technologies Group is trading at $11.96, up 3.73% in the past 24 hours, with a market cap of $1.64 billion. The company’s focus on AI infrastructure appears to be resonating with investors, particularly as global AI adoption accelerates.
Looking ahead, Bitdeer AI expects A201 to be ready for service by January 2027, while A202 will follow later that year. With 206.5MW of secured capacity across Malaysia, Norway, and the U.S., the company remains on track to meet its ambitious 350MW goal by 2028, a target that underscores its commitment to scaling AI computational infrastructure globally.
